| A2299004 | Saturday, 09 September, 2023 | Note from kennel staff on treatment board stating that "Sylvester" is still vomiting (bile) and inappetant. He has also appeared to be lethargic for the last 2 days.
Upon examination, "Sylvester" appears to be QAR and lethargic. While administering morning treatments, "Sylvester" was given a meatball containing his Trazadone, however, he did not eat the meatball. There also appeared to be more vomit (bile) in his cage at this time.
G000620 recommended the following treatment:

Today I took "Sylvester" out for a Broward Buddies date! Before we left, the kennel staff let me know he was a bit "depressed" today, although they were not sure why. He did a great job getting on leash and into my car. We started at a BurgerFi with outdoor seating in Dania for lunch. I offered Sylvester treats, but he was not as interested in eating them as he was holding them in his mouth and then spitting them out a few moments later. He did enjoy the breeze and people watching. He drank a good amount of water while we were there. He had a stare off with a family of lizards and wagged his tail at passersby before we moved on to our next location. Sylvester seemed to enjoy the car ride and lied down peacefully when he wasn't watching cars through the window. We stopped by some shops and bought a basketball so we could check his affinity for sports at Jacaranda Lakes Park with my fiancée. It turns out neither of them will make it professionally, but it was a great photo op. Sylvester was not in a super playful mood today, and he did a lot of lounging and lying around everywhere we went. I do, however, feel that he enjoyed his time out of the shelter. He might've just had a sour stomach (Sylvester had one bout of loose, gelatinous stool). He did not interact with any other people or animals but showed no aggression or fear toward any person or animals we saw. I have included a picture of him behind the wheel because it was cute, but I promise the car was parked and I did not let him drive (he asked several times, but I was firm with him, as he does not have his license). Anesthesia was induced using an injectable combination of sedatives
Maintenance: endotracheal tube, isoflurane
Patient was aseptically prepared for surgery. A midline pre-scrotal incision was made, both testicles were exteriorized, and the left and right spermatic cords were ligated and inspected for bleeding. The subcutaneous tissue was sutured. An intradermal pattern with absorbable monofilament suture was used to suture skin. Tissue glue was applied to incision. A green tattoo was applied on the abdomen to indicate patient has been sterilized. A microchip was inserted.
Discharge instructions:
1. Exercise restriction: no running, jumping, playing with people or other animals, or long walks
2. Do not bathe for 10 days
3. Suture removal not necessary
4. Monitor incision for discharge, redness, swelling. If green, yellow or thick bloody discharge is present please take pet to a veterinarian immediately.
5. Keep e-collar on at all times for 10 days following surgery.
