A2247648Tuesday, 22 November, 2022This pet has received treatment for Heartworm disease following our FDA approved two-injection treatment protocol for Class 1 disease. While this treatment is 90% effective, it is the adopter's responsibility to have their pet re-tested after 6 months post treatment. The test will be positive for several months after treatment. Continue giving monthly heartworm prevention medications throughout the life of your dog. If the adopted pet retests positive, a repeat series may need to be given at adopter's own veterinarian/expense. Please keep your pet exercise restricted for one month following treatment to reduce chance of a severe complication. Treatment of all medical conditions affecting this patient currently, or that patient may develop in the future is the adopter's responsibility. Once adopted, any and all bills and expenses incurred relating to this and any other conditions are the responsibility of the adopter at their own veterinarian. A2247648Friday, 23 December, 2022Broward Buddies Date: December 7, 2022 Dog Name and ID: AUTUMN ID# A2247648 Volunteer Name and Phone Number: Roxanne and Carol K "Lunch" Location: Paradise Tiki Bar at Dania Beach "Lunch" Duration: 2.5 hours How did dog do in car? Excellent. I had to lift her into the backseat. She sat upright and still in the backseat with me to the restaurant. She looked out the windows but was very calm. She jumped out on her own at our destinations. She did climb in on her own when we left TY Park. No drooling, no panting. How was dog near other animals? Okay. There were a few dogs in the distance in the Park. She didn't bark but was very stiff and alert to the dogs. She ignored the birds and ducks but was eager to go after the iguanas and squirrels. At the Shelter she ignores all the dogs when leaving her kennel run. She also ignores all the dogs when on a walk at the Shelter. Did dog behave while you were eating? Yes. She stood by our table the entire lunch. She took correction quickly when the food was delivered to our table. She has a good appetite. Not picky at all. She never tried to stray away or jump on anyone. Several people walked by our table. Autumn is very observant. Looked at everyone passing but didn't bark or lunge toward them. Did dog beg for food? No, but was eager for more grilled chicken or treats. How did dog accept treats? Excellent. Very gently from your hand. She sits for treats. Did anyone show any interest in dog? No. Everyone that passed her smiled and admired her. The waitress received lots of hugs from Autumn. Autumn is very sweet and likes to be petted and hugged. She did bark at a very tall man wearing a red shirt when he bent over to pet her. Before that, she didn't bark at anyone as they passed in the busy restaurant. Did you take photos and videos? Yes. Did you email photos and videos to: Foster@Broward.org ? Yes. Other comments: Autumn is a loving dog. She is affectionate and likes petting. She is lively and playful. She loves to play fetch with a soft toy. She walks best with a harness. Autumn is medium size, 2 years old, brindle with light brown eyes. She sheds very little and doesn't drool. Autumn would be a great fit for any active adult or mature child. She likes affection but is not overbearing. Autumn is a good Broward Buddies candidate. I give her a grade of A. A2247648Thursday, 09 March, 2023Vetkam applied Interceptor administered Foster requested a nail trim due to nails being too long - was able to shave off the tips but discussed with fosters that the quick was to the end of the nail, and any shorter would result in bleeding. Suggested that some grooming locations may have the dremels that can smooth/round the tips to be less abrasive. Informed fosters that sometimes a light sedation may be required to trim down nails drastically but frequent and routine trims paired with regular exercise can cause the quicks to recede naturally and is most recommended.Thursday, 09 March, 2023 11:44AMMedical
