Skin tag removed from left lateral thorax.
Anesthesia was induced using an injectable combination of sedatives
Maintenance: endotracheal tube, isoflurane
Patient was aseptically prepared for surgery. A midline pre-scrotal incision was made, both testicles were exteriorized, and the left and right spermatic cords were ligated and inspected for bleeding. The subcutaneous tissue was sutured. An intradermal pattern with absorbable monofilament suture was used to suture skin. Tissue glue was applied to incision. A green tattoo was applied on the abdomen to indicate patient has been sterilized. A microchip was inserted. RABIES VACCINE ADMINISTERED: RABVA1: SER# D353143A, EXP: 01/14/23
Discharge instructions:
1. Exercise restriction: no running, jumping, playing with people or other animals, or long walks
2. Do not bathe for 10 days
3. Suture removal not necessary
4. Monitor incision for discharge, redness, swelling. If green, yellow or thick bloody discharge is present please take pet to a veterinarian immediately.
5. Keep e-collar on at all times for 10 days following surgery.

Very sweet boy and loves going out into the yard to play. He is very intent on other dogs and sometimes it is hard to redirect him. He loves affection, treats, and is very lovely.
*Regarding other dogs, volunteer elaborated further: When he sees other dogs, he stares at them very intently and has his ears forward, eyes wide, and tail up/alert. He is very tense and frozen when he sees them and tries to drag you to them.

We took Orson to Outdoor World/Bass Pro Shop and everyone marveled at his sweet and loving disposition. He was great on leash and seems to love children. He's a big guy with a huge heart and kind demeanor. He pants a lot though and I was a bit worried about that but we stayed indoors the entire time and he finally seemed to cool off and stop panting! He cuddled with my friend in the back seat on the way back to the shelter. He's a lovely lovely boy! Here are some photos of Orson! 1.) How did the dog do in the car? He was fine but got a bit restless. He did get car sick at the end but I'm not sure if he was already feeling sick prior to getting him

3.) How was the dog around other people to include kids? He saw little kids playing and riding bikes, he walked by them and didn't really pay attention
4.) How was the dog near other animals? He didn't seem to like when a dog was near him, he would just stare. He didn't bark or lunge though
5.) Did the dog behave while you were eating? We didn't eat
6.) Did the dog beg for food? No
7.) How did the dog accept treats? Gentle with them
8.) Did anyone show any interest in the dog? Not that we saw

11.) Other comments: Orson was a good boy. I wish I had more time that day to go out to eat with him but I am glad I got to take him out for an hour to the park. He enjoyed sniffing and walked great with me. He seems to get tired easily from exercise and was eager to lay down in the grass after about 30 minutes.

2.) How did the dog do on the leash? EXCELLENT
3.) How was the dog around other people to include kids? EXCELLENT - the people on the other hand were very hesitant or very rude towards Orson, it was heartbreaking. I don't believe they were local people. Downtown is usually very dog friendly and lots of pit bulls. Orson didn't even really pay attention to anyone, he just walked right by my side. He didn't pull or anything, when he got tired he would just lay down for a few moments. It was a warm day and there were a lot of people at the festival.
4.) How was the dog near other animals? He watched them
5.) Did the dog behave while you were eating? He started barking when our lunch was served.
6.) Did the dog beg for food? He barked, so we got it to go so we didn't have anyone say anything to us, 1 guy made a scene that if he was truly a service dog he wouldn't bark. I showed him the Adopt Me vest and no one stated or tried to play him off as a service dog.
7.) How did the dog accept treats? YES! He loved bread and butter and veggie burger
8.) Did anyone show any interest in the dog? waitress at Cheesecake Factory
9.) Did you take photos and videos? yes,

11.) Other comments: ORSON WAS WONDERFUL!!! He LOVES climbing steps. Every step went by he climbed them. It was pretty funny! He stayed next to me the entire time. Never aggressive or skittish.
I can see Orson with a strong dad. Kind of like a Travis Kelce type!
A person approached my car at a stoplight and Orson kept his eye on them the entire time. He did not bark or growl. Just watched.
If i would take Orson again, I would do more of a chill day with not so many people.

He was very observant and was fascinated watching all the people. He loved meeting new friends. He takes food and treats gently and did not beg for food. He knows sit and was very well behaved. He loved leaning against my leg and resting his head on my knee. He has a great inquisitive head tilt. 11.) Other comments: Orson started his Broward Buddies date with a long walk at the park. This energetic, senior, good boy was the perfect spectator at a soccer game and dog park. He enjoyed playing with his new ball and rolling in the grass. He was excited to have lunch at Gulfstream Brewery. He loves meeting people and leaning against you. He is a happy boy who wags his tail immediately when given some attention or pizza. He is well behaved in the car, walks perfect on a leash, knows sit, takes treats and food gently and is house broken. He did not react to dogs close by. He is sponsored by The Pet Project which means he get free food, heart worm and flea prevention and basic health care, free for life. He has been at BCAC for over 400 days. In 10/2022 he was abandoned, left like trash tied to a dumpster. This happy, sweet boy deserves a home.

Meet Orson! (A2240956)
8 Years Old & 70 pounds
Orson arrived at the shelter on 10/09/22 as a stray as he is consider a 'long stay' shelter pet. Orson is a very nice and friendly fellow who loves to wag his tail when anyone approaches him. Orson loves treats, toys, attention, and affection! Orson is also sponsored by the pet project in which Orson gets free food for the rest of his life as it also applies while he is in foster care.
Orson was sent on a Broward Buddies outing recently, and had a great time! This is what the Broward Buddies fosters had to say about Orson: "My Broward buddies date with Orson was wonderful! He did amazing and was super well behaved! He really enjoyed his time out at Tree Tops park and did excellent taking his bath. He is a calm boy and loves getting attention and belly rubs. Orson did well in the car he does not jump up and is a calm soul. Orson would be a great addition to a loving family." So what are you waiting for??
