Anesthesia was induced using an injectable combination of sedatives
Maintenance: endotracheal tube, isoflurane
Patient was aseptically prepared for surgery. A midline pre-scrotal incision was made, both testicles were exteriorized, and the left and right spermatic cords were ligated and inspected for bleeding. The subcutaneous tissue was sutured. An intradermal pattern with absorbable monofilament suture was used to suture skin. Tissue glue was applied to incision. A green tattoo was applied on the abdomen to indicate patient has been sterilized. A microchip was inserted. RABIES VACCINE ADMINISTERED: Rabvac 1 Serial# D353143A EXP. 01/14/2023
Discharge instructions:
1. Exercise restriction: no running, jumping, playing with people or other animals, or long walks
2. Do not bathe for 10 days
3. Suture removal not necessary
4. Monitor incision for discharge, redness, swelling. If green, yellow or thick bloody discharge is present please take pet to a veterinarian immediately.
5. Keep e-collar on at all times for 10 days following surgery.

Mitch walks well on the leash. Very social he looks you in the eye when you address him, attentive. Takes treats gently and seats without being asked. Pretty calm in the yard, he likes to hang out by you. No noticeable reaction when seeing other dogs passing by.
Dynamic and healthy looking, Mitch is playful and enjoys retrieving balls in the boneyard. Confident, he seems to be a stress-free pet. A good candidate for a Broward Buddy date!

1.) How did the dog do in the car? Fantastic given that we spent a long time driving around
and caught by a huge rainfall. We had to stay inside the car and Mitch was totally cool with that.
2.) How was the dog around other people? He was very friendly and confident.
3.) How was the dog near other animals? He got animated at the look of another small dog barking at him but he was easy to steer and never looked back.
4.) Did the dog behave while you were eating? Absolutely.
5.) Did the dog beg for food? Not once.
6.) How did the dog accept treats? Very gently. He enjoyed treats, french fries and a tasty
hamburger.
7.) Did anyone show any interest in the dog? No. We did talk to a variety of folks interested in the Broward Buddies program though.

1.) How did the dog do in the car? Mitch was very excited at first so had a hard time settling in the car in the beginning. By the end of the date, he was snuggled up in the backseat snoring.
2.) How was the dog around other people? Mitch seems to love people and wants to play and be loved on. He seemed very interested in wanting to play with kids.
3.) How was the dog near other animals? Mitch didn't react negatively at all around other dogs who were really barking at him- he seems fine around other animals.
4.) Did the dog behave while you were eating? We didn't eat during our date, but Mitch loves treats.

3.) How was the dog near other animals? Mitch ignored the pets we saw being walked.
4.) Did the dog behave while you were eating? Totally. Oh my! A darling!
5.) Did the dog beg for food? Mitch is a trained dog. He waits.
6.) How did the dog accept treats? Yes, gently always. But, boy, Mitch loves treats.
7.) Did anyone show any interest in the dog? A lot of people stopped to admire and pet him (he has such a great smile) but all were out of towners.

10.) Other comments: Mitch is playful and loves to play fetch. HE BRINGS BACK THE BALL TO YOU REPEATEDLY. It was my second time with Mitch and this pup goes out a lot on Broward Buddies. Mitch stayed in the back of the car the whole ride, patiently waiting while we drove on congested roads. He truly enjoyed his walk at Holiday Park. He walked by me and was always obedient. Potty trained as well. At the restaurant he loved his chicken. He is a well trained pup who needs a home. I enjoyed this second outing with Mitch immensely.
