A2151549Saturday, 21 August, 2021Marley is starting to jump at and muzzle punch me when I removed him from his kennel. He does not go for my hands or anything, and he accepts verbal corrections, but takes a moment to chill out. Once outside he is totally fine. As of now I feel that the initial excitement of going outside is the culprit, but I am slightly less comfortable walking him all the same. I will try just handing him a rope toy and see if that helps him deal with the hype.Saturday, 21 August, 2021 2:14PMBehavior
A2151549Tuesday, 24 August, 2021Update: Offering Marley a toy is not working. He will grab it, but what he really wants is my hands. He grazed my wrist with his teeth today. Marley is fine outside and walks well. Getting him out is just an issue. I no longer feel particularly comfortable leashing him. I don't think he's trying to actually hurt me, but he is definitely going to on accident. I had better luck with treats. Be careful leashing him.Tuesday, 24 August, 2021 5:18PMBehavior

A2151549Thursday, 14 October, 2021Lunch Buddy Date Meet Marvelous MARLEY ! Marley had a great day out, car ride, lunch at a restaurant and a nice walk in a lakeside park. Marley did EXCELLENT on this outing today. There was ducks, geese, birds, squirrels, lizards and a horse and Marley paid absolutely no attention to them. Good Boy ! Marley quietly laid down as we ate our lunch and never begged for food...not even once ! We were able to eat our lunch peaceful and fed him once we were done. He would make an awesome Travel Buddy or a great companion for you in whatever you do. He never barked once and he is housebroken. Once he does his business, he is very easy to walk. He would be good in an apartment/condo. Marley is eight years young, mellow and likes to be petted. Come meet this amazing boy, MARLEY ID# A2151549 at BROWARD COUNTY ANIMAL CARE AND ADOPTION, 2400 SW 42ND ST, Fort Lauderdale.Thursday, 14 October, 2021 12:10PMBehavior
A2151549Friday, 29 October, 2021Lunch Buddy Date: October 22-24 Dog Name and ID: Marley A215154 "Lunch" Location: Riverside market, Tarpon river brewery, Harbor's edge park, 26 degree brewing "Lunch" Duration: The weekend 1.)How did dog do in car? -He was great in the car, he sat patiently in the back while looking out the window resting on the floor. 2.)How was dog around other people? -He was very friendly and wanted to greet almost everyone we walked by. Never showed any aggression toward other people at all. 3.)How was dog near other animals? -He was interested in other dogs but we did not let him approach them. He did not seem aggressive toward other dogs from a distance, he would just look at them while we walked by. He did want to chase squirrels and cats, but did not chase ducks when we walked by them. 4.)Did dog behave while you were eating? -He behaved well while we were eating. Never was aggressive toward us while we handled food. He was very good while we ate even if we ate on the couch next to him. 5.)Did dog beg for food? -He would occasionally look over at our food but never attempted to take food from us or whine/bark at us for food. 6.)How did dog accept treats? -He took treats very gently and slowly from our hands, being careful not to bite us. He would not snap at the treats at all. 7.)Did anyone show any interest in dog? -We did not have anyone show interest in adopting him but many people came up to pet him. 8.)Did you take photos and videos? -Yes 9.)Did you email photos and videos to: Foster@Broward.org ? -I have attached photos to this email. 10.)Other comments: -Marley is a very sweet boy. He was always very calm when we were sitting down with him but he would happily run alongside us in the park. He also would play with us when we invited it by chasing us and rubbing up against us. He was a big cuddler whenever on the couch or in bed too. Friday, 29 October, 2021 1:17PMBehavior

A2151549Monday, 22 November, 2021Marley is so playful and sweet. He is easy to leash and unleash and gets very excited for his walks. He pulls on leash moderately. After walks he will easily go back into kennel and throw himself on the ground for belly rubs. Marley loves affection and takes treats gently. He is house broken and will cry at kennel when he needs to go out.Monday, 22 November, 2021 6:33PMBehavior
A2151549Saturday, 27 November, 2021Marley is ver obedient and he walks very well hardly pulling you unless there are other dogs out or he really needs to go. Marley loves belly rubs and treats. He pulls towards cats.Saturday, 27 November, 2021 6:14PMBehavior

A2151549Saturday, 25 December, 2021When I get Marley for a walk now, I make sure everyone in his row is closed off on the other side, and I just let him run to the door following a trail of treats I've left for him. This has completely solved his jumping and chomping problem, because really the reason he was doing it was out of misplaced excitement for coming out of his kennel. Now, he has a delicious handful of treats to look forward to, and doesn't give me any problems while leashing. He's great on leash, probably shouldn't be in a home with cats though. Loves affection, and is a very good boy, he just gets frustrated in his kennel which is understandable. I highly doubt Marley will have any overexcitement issues in a home!Saturday, 25 December, 2021 4:27PMBehavior
A2151549Monday, 03 January, 2022In the handful of times I've walked Marley, I have the same process. Lock everyone over and have treats ready. I think the combo of anxiety in the kennel and excitement to get out results in him lunging at your hand and jumping to your face. Once outside, he's a very mellow dude that walks pretty well. Accepts affection. Going back in is a lot easier than taking him out.Monday, 03 January, 2022 3:26PMNote
