A2008089Tuesday, 19 February, 2019P. Goen 3186 02/19/19 11:57--This dog is the subject of and open cruelty investigation (See notes on A19-111066). Dog was impounded at large, tranferred @ BSO request to a private vet for the purposes of thier investigation, the transferred to ACAD for housing pending the results of thier investigation. DO NOT RELEASE without Supervisor approval. Due to this being part of an ongoing and open investigation, any request for records regarding this dog should be suspended until investigation closure. 02/28/19 16:00 Owner, P0664399, has been in contact with me several times requesting to pick up his dog, and has today expressed concern about the fees. Each time that Mr. Florence has called, he has been advised to contact Det. Schnakenberg, to discuss release. Once he does so, we will be contacted by the Detective to provide authorization. In my contacts w/ Det. Schnakenberg, I have been advised that all contact attempts have not been answered. While I was on the phone today w/ Mr. Florence, I had Det. Schnakenberg call and Mr. Florence switched over and finally spoke with him. At the request of the Detective, Fees will be frozen at their current reclaim tally of $440.00 as of today, 02/28/19, so that Detective Schnakenberg can make the appropriate arrangements to have Mr. Florence come in to speak with him. Projected ETA for this is by end of week, but hopefully sooner. Det. Schnakenberg was advised that once release approval is given, Mr. Florence will be given a deadline to reclaim in order to keep the fees at $440.00 and that fees will begin again after the given deadline.--PJGThursday, 28 February, 2019 4:19PMNote-Supervisor

A2008089Saturday, 06 February, 2021I was walking Bow today and at the start he seemed extra agitated, moving to fence fight with dogs that were 20 feet away from him. I took him around the retention pond to be well away from stimulation and, without any warning, he suddenly turned and grabbed my leash, shaking and pulling it with his entire strength. I elected to completely ignore this instead of encouraging him, slowly leading him back towards the shelter in case I needed help. He started growling and snarling, shaking my leash even more, and then finally he lunged right for *me*. I yolked him so I could hold him at arm's length and he seemed to calm down. I'm not sure what he was about. I didn't have to dodge his attack - he just kind of tried to fake me out maybe? He was well within the ability to take me down - I couldn't have done much to stop him with how fast he turned - but he didn't. He went back into his kennel completely willingly with no issues and I tossed him a peanut butter kong in the hopes he can get his frustrations out on that instead of whoever walks him next. I would say use extreme caution from now on, and if a correction tool works on him, have it with you at all times. He does like to play fetch in the yard, so maybe extra time outside could help him chill? He's always been a bit aloof with me, but he has *never* done that before now.Saturday, 06 February, 2021 10:26AMBehavior
A2008089Saturday, 06 February, 2021I was walking bow to the boneyard and he was okay. We got into the boneyard and he started to bite the leash and growl at me. I dropped the leash and turned my back to him. He then bit the back of my leg, he didnt draw blood. He continued to lunge at me and I raised my voice to correct him and left him in the yard and asked Nick to put him back for me. This was my first and last encounter with him.Saturday, 06 February, 2021 5:38PMBehavior
A2008089Thursday, 11 February, 202102/11/21 18:12 He gives no trouble leashing him and proceeds to run to the door instead of cage fighting with dogs in his row, but there are occassions he will move toward the other dogs. He walks well on the leash with some pulling, so a strong/firm handler is necessary imo, but when excited enough will start redirecting toward the leash and continue to jump toward it until I shorten his lead and hold him in place. In the yard, he can be actaully playful, he assumes a playful stance and will run circles. He chases balls and can return to me, he has acutally allow me to hold the ball in his mouth until he lets it go. I have also cupped under him so he can drop ball in my hands. He will sit for treats. However, I still in the learning stages with Bow, he hasn't given me a solid reason not to take him out of his kennel. I will always observe him.Thursday, 11 February, 2021 6:12PMBehavior
A2008089Wednesday, 17 February, 202102/17/21 12:33 Reading Bow's previous notes I made sure I made his exit from the run as quiet and calm as possible by locking the dogs in the neighboring runs to the opposite side that I was going to remove him from. As soon as the kennel door opened he barged out of his run full speed, but I was able to quickly catch and leash him, he did not react to any of the cages, just seemed focused to go outside. After going outside he became very tense and stiff and walked around with his hackles up the entire time. Any sudden movements seemed to upset him so I proceeded slowly and with caution. Once we went back inside with the neighboring dogs still locked back on the opposite side, he did not show much issue when returning to the kennel and in removing the leash. A2008089Tuesday, 23 February, 202102/23/21 10:27 Today bow was very tense, even until outside. He was pulling toward other dogs, and upon approaching the building, there was another dog in the bone yard that was barrier reactive. He began to growl, bark and chomp at the other dog, when we entered the building he attempted to fight the dog through the glass. I allowed him to calm down some before putting him back in his run, but once I place him in the kennel, he turned around and attempted to bite my arm, his eyes were fully dialated and he was emitting a low growl. He then charged the run at me after I closed it. Caution when walking, may redirect if agitated when returning to kennel. F.M.Tuesday, 23 February, 2021 10:31AMBehavior

A2008089Tuesday, 09 March, 2021I have not tested my luck with Bow since he redirected on me last time I walked him, but as I make my rounds I notice he is extremely anxious in his kennel - whining, pacing, jumping high to see the other dogs around him and snarling, etc. I feel that this environment is getting to him and would love it if an experienced handler could give him a chance in a home. Bow never showed aggression towards me before my last note; in fact, he was great on leash and fun to play with - so I think his environment is just not good for his stress levels.Tuesday, 09 March, 2021 6:2PMBehavior
A2008089Wednesday, 10 March, 202103/10/21 - 16:56 Bow is a very playful and energetic dog. He is the best fetch player, running fast for the ball and when he returns it, he drops it nicely right at your feet or in your hand. He does now present well in the kennel though, constantly crying and jumping. He is a great dog and I think the shelter enviornment is too much for him to handle, as he becomes stressed and anxious.
